Hi Barbara, sorry for the delayed reply! I use Lawrence French 88 intaglio inks. They are linseed oil based and I do use them straight from the tube and mix them like ordinary paints. If I want to thin them I use extender and I have a wiping compound that I use for stickier pigments.
